Mobile App Internship
Overview:
The Mobile App intern will build the mobile application for the Tom Joyner Foundation. This app will assist the Tom Joyner Foundation in creating social awareness for Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).
Primary Responsibilities:
- Work with current contracted company to complete app construction
- Design application with development of visual and functionality
- Provide technical support and troubleshoot application
- Integrate app into company website
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Access to Android or Apple iPhone
Requirements & Education:
- Must be currently enrolled as an undergraduate student.
- Required to commit to working 20 hours per week
- Student should be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Marketing, or related field.
- Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop
- Advanced social media proficiency with expertise in Facebook and Twitter.
- Excellent writing skills
- Excellent communication (written and oral), organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Comprehensive computer knowledge and ability to efficiently use Microsoft Word, Microsoft Works, Excel, PowerPoint, and tools necessary for social media management.
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment while remaining calm and flexible.
- Must be a team player
- Must be located in the Dallas area
Compensation:
This is an unpaid internship. This position is available as soon as possible.

Marketing & Research Internship
Overview:
The Marketing & Research intern will assist in marketing and research projects for the Tom Joyner Foundation to create awareness for Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).
Primary Responsibilities:
- Update Virtual College Fair
- Develop a relationship with Google App Store and Apple Store
- Manage SEO
- Create Copy with PR manager
- Build high school social media followers
- Build high school counselor database
- Build social media calendar
- Develop an application marketing campaign
Requirements & Education:
- Must be currently enrolled as an undergraduate student.
- Required to commit to working 20 hours per week
- Student should be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, or related field.
- Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop
- Advanced social media proficiency with expertise in Facebook and Twitter.
