(DALLAS – November 20) The Louisville Chapter of National Alumnae Association of Spelman College is hosting a reception and a brunch as part of its “Spelman in the Bluegrass” series of events.
The festivities kick off on Friday with a reception between 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. at E & S Art Gallery, 108 S 10th St, Louisville, Ky. The event will celebrate the college’s renewed focus on the arts. On Saturday, the alumnae will host the Bluegrass Awards Brunch at 10 a.m. in the Rivue Tower, 25th floor Waterford Room at The Galt House, 140 N 4th St, Louisville, Ky. The featured speaker will be Spelman’s president, Mary Schmidt Campbell, Ph.D.
Registration for both events is available at the NAASC website: http://www.naasc.org. Tickets may also be purchased at the door. The National Alumnae Association of Spelman College was the Tom Joyner Foundation “School of the Month” last January.

The honorees at the Bluegrass Awards Brunch are Sadiqa N. Reynolds, Esq., who will receive the Trailblazer Award; and Sheron R. Williams, M.D., who will receive the True Blue Award for Excellence.
Sadiqa N. Reynolds became Louisville Urban League’s first female president in the history of the organization on Oct. 1.
Spelman alumna and Louisville-based Sheron R. Williams, M.D. will receive the True Blue Award for Excellence for her “many years of service to the Louisville community, her sustained financial support of Spelman College and for excellence in the field of medicine.”
