Oakwood University has three dynamic choirs: Aeolians, Dynamic Praise, and Voices of Triumph.
Aeolians
The Aeolians of Oakwood University is a gospel choir that was organized in 1946 by Dr. Eva B. Dykes. This choir’s collection of music ranges from Baroque era to the twentieth century, with expressions of Negro spirituals and work songs. Over the years, their exceptional performances have earned them notable awards. They were crowned World Choir Games Spirituals Champions, HBCU Choir of the Year (four times), and 2017 Choir of the World. The Aeolians continue to travel touching hearts all over the world.

Dynamic Praise
Dynamic Praise has been a part of Oakwood University’s heritage since its organization in 1988. The choir has performed with artists such as Richard Smallwood, Kirk Franklin, Yolanda Adams, Donnie McClurkin, CeCe Winans, Dottie Peoples, Byron Cage, Lamar Campbell, and Kelly Price.

Voices of Triumph
Voices of Triumph is a gospel choir made up of spiritual students that started in 1994. Their mission is “to spread the love of Jesus throughout the world and to encourage each other to prepare for God’s second coming.” They use music as ministry to change people lives. Their activities include praise and worship programs, dorm visits, social activities with campus organizations and bible study sessions.
