September 25, 2013 by sarterbery

Harvard University has announced the launch of a new $15 millon dollar center, the Hutchins Center for African and African American Research.

The center will house the Afro-Latin American Research Institute, the History Design Studio, the Program for the Study of Race and Gender in Science and Medicine, and the Ethelbert Cooper Gallery of African and African American Art.

The Hutchins Center for African and African American Research was made possible through a gift from the Hutchins Family Foundation, which was endowed by Glenn Hutchins, a Harvard graduate who co-founded technology investment company Sliver Lake.

The Hutchins center will launch on October 2nd.
