Live broadcast to air on Radio One’s KMJQ-Majic 102.1 FM as part of the 2014 Texas Black Expo
R&B singer Tank, Texas Southern University Alumnus and Future NFL Hall of Famer Michael Strahan Special Guests Calling Into Show
(DALLAS – June 19) The Tom Joyner Foundation and the nationally syndicated Tom Joyner Morning Show is hosting a live broadcast of the show on Radio One’s KMJQ – Majic 102.1 FM in Houston on Friday to help raise money for Texas Southern University, the June “School of the Month”.
The live broadcast , which is part of the 2014 Texas Black Expo weekend celebration, will take place between 5:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. at The Breakfast Klub, 3711 Travis Street, Houston, Texas. The foundation will be collecting donations on site – check, cash or money order – or you can make donations online at TomJoynerFoundation.org.
Tom Joyner, host of the radio show and the Foundation chairman, is asking for former drum line members of the “Ocean Of Soul” Band and former members of the “Motion Of The Ocean” Women’s Dance squad to join him at the live broadcast.
During the broadcast, R&B singer Tank and former New York Giants football great and Texas Southern University alumnus Michael Strahan will be calling into the show. Strahan will be inducted to the National Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio in August.
The Texas Southern National Alumni Association Conference will be held in Dallas in August. Alumni and other supporters also can donate to the alumni association’s “Bring It” Campaign by going to TomJoynerFoundation.org.
The foundation, formed by the nationally syndicated radio personality, chose Texas Southern as part of its on-going effort to assist these institutions in broadening and strengthening their efforts to raise money to help keep students attending HBCUs.
