Tuesday, Sept. 10

The Gordon Library and the Political Science Department will present a current events program titled “Bringing Peace to Syria: Consequences of U.S. Military Intervention” by Professor Behrooz Kalantari, Ph.D., noon-1:30 p.m., Gordon Library Art Gallery (second floor).

Wednesday, Sept. 11

Student organizations will hold a brief ceremony and candlelight vigil in remembrance of the victims of 9/11 and Hurricane Katrina beginning at 8 p.m. in the King-Frazier Student Center ballroom.

Thursday, Sept. 12

More than 150 SSU students who earned science-related scholarships, internships and assistantships for the 2013-14 academic year will be recognized during the 2013 Research Scholarship Awards Ceremony beginning at 3 p.m., Student Union Event Rooms A-C.

Saturday, Sept. 14

The Tiger football team will make its home debut of the season against the Fort Valley State University Wildcats at 6 p.m., T.A. Wright Stadium.

Sunday, Sept. 15

College of Business Administration students in the Leadership and Professional Development Class will present a charity bike round up for the SSU STAR – Students That Are Rising –project, a support program that helps college students who are transitioning from foster care into college or independent living. Bikers will depart from the Savannah Mall parking lot at 1 p.m. and travel to the SSU campus, where they will assemble in the Student Union parking lot to make a presentation. The STAR Pantry project collects toiletries and other supplies for students in need.
