Today the Tom Joyner Morning Show stopped in Jackson,Mississippi on its #TJMSTour. While in Jackson they had a chance to visit Jackson State University. This HBCU was founded in 1877 in Natchez, Mississippi and they are accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) . It is 1 of only 2 Historically Black Colleges and Universities to be classified as a research intensive university with high research activity by The Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education, along with Howard University.
This weekend Jackson State takes on Tennessee State in the 25th Annual Southern Heritage Classic that will be played in Memphis, Tennessee. Click here to take our #TJFPolloftheWeek ” Who Will Win the Southern Heritage Classic ?”
Also, Jackson State University was selected as the Tom Joyner Foundation School of the Month back 1999 and 2005.
