Foundation, Links in Birmingham Raising Funds for Students at Alabama State University and Alabama A&M University
(DALLAS – October 14, 2016) The Tom Joyner Foundation is partnering with the Magic City Links – AL to raise money for scholarships for students Alabama State University and Alabama A&M University as part of the 2016 Magic City Football Classic.
The Foundation and the Magic City Links – AL are encouraging all alumni and HBCU supporters to help invest in the educations of these scholars. The 2016 Magic City Football Classic takes place Oct. 29 in Birmingham, Ala.
“We’re excited to be working with the Links to help raise money to help these students complete their educations at these HBCUs,” said Thomas Joyner, Jr., president and CEO, of the Tom Joyner Foundation. “We want to do all we can to ensure that these students can fulfill their dreams.”
Charletta T. Sheehy, President Magic City (AL) Chapter, The Links Incorporated, said, “It is important that organizations such as The Magic City (AL) Chapter of The Links Incorporated provide scholarships for deserving graduating high school seniors. Also, it is important that we partner with other organizations and foundations, such as The Tom Joyner Foundation to help raise funds for scholarships.”
