#TJFWHM18: Issa Rae, New School Film Creative

Issa Rae is an actress, writer, director and producer. She first gained recognition for her unique and popular web series “Awkward Black Girl”, which led to her creation of the HBO series “Insecure”. “Insecure” earned Issa two Golden Globe nominations for Best Actress in a Television Series Comedy in 2017 and 2018.

The Los Angeles native is the daughter of a pediatrician and teacher. She graduated from Stanford University in 2007 with a degree in African and African-American Studies.

Hats off to this talented woman, Issa Rae.
