The Warrior Women of Morris Brown College Alumni Visit Wakanda For a Day

March 22, 2018 by Cherie S. White

The dynamic affinity group, Women for Morris Brown College, Inc. hosted the 37th Annual Signature Scholarship Luncheon on March 10th, 2018 at St. Philip AME Church, Atlanta, GA. The group was founded 37 years ago by the late Dr. Helen K. Threatt (former first lady, wife of the late MBC former president Dr. Robert Threatt) and has held true to its legacy of service, strength and support for Dear Ol’ Morris Brown College.

More than 200 guests attended and heard stirring words of inspiration from key note speaker Georgia State Senator Donzella James, a proud MBC Alumna and warrior advocate for Georgia’s District 35. The event was filled with festive music, fellowship, vendors and southern cuisine in the Fellowship Hall. The luncheon theme this year with a nod to the movie Black Panther, “A Kaleidoscope of African-American Culture”, where attendees were encouraged to dress in African regalia. Attire worn by guests was as vibrant and beautiful as the culture of our ancestors were royally represented.
