SSU is site of 2013 Georgia Green Economy Summit

Savannah, GA – The Savannah State University (SSU) ECO tigers will host The Georgia Green Summit in the SSU Student Union Ballroom beginning at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25.

The day-long summit will begin with a keynote address by Bruce Karas, vice president of the Environment and Sustainability for Coca Cola Refreshments, followed by a variety of workshops conducted by certified professionals in the fields of green economy to renewable energy. With more than 20 years of experience, Karas is also a certified industrial hygienist, a certified safety professional and a registered occupational hygienist in Canada.

The luncheon keynote speaker is Laura Turner Seydel, a national environmental advocate and eco-Living expert who is the chairperson of Captain Planet Foundation. She is also the co-founder of Mothers and Others for Clean Air and the Chattahoochee Riverkeeper. Seydel is the recipient of numerous awards for humanitarian and environmental efforts.

Albert A. George II, an alumnus of SSU, founded the Georgia Green Economy Summit, which promotes green economy growth in the state of Ga. He is the director of Carbon Service for the GIC Group and co-founder of the Amazon Reforestation Project.
