Savannah State University alumnus, Jordan Allen. (Rising Tide, Savannah State University).

Jordan Allen is a 2012 graduate from Savannah State. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in environmental science and is now in graduate school in Colorado studying ecology. As a student, Allen applied and was accepted into The Polaris Project, where he has conducted research in Rocky Mountain National Park, and now in the Siberian Arctic. Allen is blogging from his experience which can be found here.

As a graduate student I’m interested in the effects of nitrogen fertilization on soil respiration. What I enjoy most about studying ecology is getting to work in the field and developing interesting questions that contribute to our scientific understanding.
