Kalon Anthony ,a Sophomore at Winston Salem State University was named the Tom Joyner Foundation “Hercules Scholar ” for this week.
Kalon is originally from Riverdale, Georgia and currently has a 3.73 GPA. He is majoring in Education at Winston Salem State University. His future goal after earning his degree at Winston Salem , he wants to pursue his goal of becoming a teacher or a preacher and be a positive role model in the community. At WSSU he is a Eagle Brother of the Alpha Nu Omega Fraternity Inc. and apart of Winston Salem’s M.I.M.E a organization on campus that minister through mimes to gospel music performed throughout the community . He also mentions that the most influential people to his life is his father and grandfather. Kalon says that both have helped him become the young man he is now and also looks to for inspiration as he carries his family legacy.

Winston-Salem State University was founded in 1852.
