Senior and Aspiring Engineer from Wiley College Receives $1,500 Hercules Scholarship

Student: Adam McClelland-Orr

Hometown : Detroit , Michigan

GPA: 3.59

Classification/ Major : Senior / Computer Information Systems

Adam McClelland – Orr named this week’s Tom Joyner Foundation Hercules Scholar

Adam  is in his senior year at Wiley College and upon leaving the university he would like to pursue his ultimate goal of becoming an engineer or a composer of audio.

Mr. McClelland – Orr has a very extensive musical background from playing the piano and tuba , he has played in several genres of music such as polka bands, campus recitals  and jazz with a group named Collegians

At the Wiley College, Adam participates with the Wiley College Acapella Choir and with the music departments to participate in recitals.

Adam says he finds influence in every person that he interacts with . The conversations that brew with people he takes some positive aspect from that person and applies that to his life . He also mentions that his late father is his hero!

The motto he lives by  is “My hero never gave up during a time of adversity ”
