Congratulations to William McCorn for being this week’s Hercules scholar!
William McCorn is an honor student with selfless aspirations. At Livingstone William works at the campus radio station as an on-air personality, announces campus basketball games, is a member of the student senate and volunteers in the community.
Post graduation, William plans to dedicate his time and energy toward advocating for education reform as a lobbyist or through the non-profit sector. The most influential people in his life are his parents. Both are lifelong educators. Outside of his parents, William’s top influences are W. E. B. DuBois, Tupac Shakur, and Eve Ewing. In which he refers to as formal and informal educators.
Giving the source’s full Muslim name of El Hajj Malik El Shabazz, William’s motto is a quote from Malcolm X, “A man that stands for nothing will fall for anything”.
