Hats off to future CFO and today’s Hercules Scholar, Myles Harris from Houston, Texas. Myles is a leader and member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. Read more about Myles, in his own words:
I am a native of Houston, TX and son of Ronald & Karen Harris. I attended Dobie High School before heading to Fisk University. I chose Fisk because after my exposure to multiple top ranked PWIs (predominately white institutions), I felt appreciated and valued at Fisk. The resources and support offered by the Fisk culture set me up for success and made me more than a number and a check.
I am a Business major with a concentration in Financial Economics. At Fisk, I have served various leadership roles – Class President, Student Ambassador, Student Judiciary Committee Member, and Pan-Hellenic Council President. I am active in multiple organizations, including the Student Advisory Board, Collegiate 100, and Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., where I serve as my chapter’s Vice Polemarch. I have had the honor of being selected as a Bluford Healthcare Leadership Institute Scholar, Vinson & Elkins Scholar, and as a member of the National Society of Leadership.
After graduation, I plan on becoming a financial analyst and one day joining the selective ranks of African Americans who serve as CFOs of major corporations. I am continuously motivated to achieve by my desire to show my parents that their many sacrifices were not in vain and to be an inspiration to black males everywhere.
