“My university is challenging me so that I can be great.”-Meet Megan Hayes, First Generation HBCU Student

Name: Megan Hayes

HBCU attended: Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University

Hometown: Tallahassee, Florida

Megan’s HBCU experience: As the first in my family to go to college, I knew that an HBCU was the perfect choice for me and FAMU was my first choice. It’s my freshman year and I’m in the process of completing my second semester of college and to be honest, it is very challenging. But my university is challenging me so that I can be great and above others in society so that I can succeed and achieve my dreams. It may be difficult now, but it will pay off later and there’s no other place that I’d rather be. I’m proud to be the first generation of my family to go to college and I will soon be a pharmacist and graduate from Florida A&M University!
