Meet Future Professor Carl Reeds, Today’s Bethune-Cookman University Hercules Scholar

Career goal: Research professor

Congratulations to senior Criminal Justice major, Carl Reeds. He is today’s Hercules Scholarship winner. After graduation, Carl plans to pursue his Ph.D. and further his knowledge of the law and criminology.

In addition to academics, Carl has participated in numerous research projects through the Criminal Justice department, including a project named “Examination of the Communities That Care Model Toward Understanding Juvenile Risk and Recidivism.” Carl has had the honor of being a apart of RISE for Boys and Men of Color, a project that prepares scholars for doctoral study and research-related careers. He is also vice president of the National Association of Blacks in Criminal Justice.

Carl is influenced most by activist Malcolm X and lives by the motto: Proper preparation prevents poor performance.
