Media Invited to Cover St. Croix Community Forum on Treating Trauma; Sponsored by UVI’s Anti-Violence and Peace Initiative
Members of the media are invited to cover a free community forum for the general public on the topic “From Hurting to Healing: A Community Approach to Treating Trauma.” The forum is set for 6 to 9 p.m. today, Thursday, May 16. It will be held in the Great Hall on UVI’s Albert A. Sheen Campus on St. Croix. Presentations are planned by Police Commissioner Rodney Querrard, Assistant Attorney General Jasmine Griffin, and Trauma Healing Trainer Carolyn Keys. Panel presentations will follow.
The forum is part of two days of conferences for counselors, social workers, first responders and others who deal with victims of trauma. Those sessions are being held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the St. Thomas campus today, and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the Albert A. Sheen Campus on St. Croix on Friday, May 17.
