Junior at North Carolina Central University Receives $1,500 Hercules Scholarship

Shimelis Zewudie named this week’s Tom Joyner Foundation Hercules Scholar

Upon graduation, Shimelis wants to work as an RN in different health facilities. He would also want to get his masters in nursing  or in public healthy . Traveling the world working  in  different the health centers to help different societies in  need is another goal of Shimelis.

At the North Carolina Central,  Shimelis is a tutor in Chemistry, biology, and general mathematics for students who are freshmen. He has  also participated in building homes for homeless people with Habitat for Humanity and apart of the blood drive team prepared by NCCU and American Red Cross. In his community he also serves as a deacon.

The people who influence Shimelis are his parents. They have had a big impact in shaping him to be an effective, hard working student. .

The motto he live by  is “Everything is possible with God.”
