Junior at Jackson State University Receives a $1,500 Hercules Scholarship

Student: Calvin Brown

GPA: 3.7

Hometown : Alpharetta  , Georgia

Classification / Major : Junior / Finance

Calvin Brown, a Junior at Jackson State University was named the Tom Joyner Foundation “Hercules Scholar ” for this week.

Mr. Brown is originally from Alpharetta  and currently has a 3.7 GPA. He is majoring in Finance at Jackson State University. After college he plans to become a financial or investment analyst in corporate America, and his career goal is to one day become the CEO of a Fortune 500 company.

Calvin is a member of  the Delta Phi Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. and Student Government Representative , Research Analyst (Jackson State Center for Undergraduate Research), and Dean of College of Business Student Advisory Council member.

Calvin says the most influential person in his life  is his  mother Dian Brown and father Calvin Brown Sr. , they are both Jackson State alums and have severed as outstanding role models throughout my matriculation as a young man.

The motto that he lives :  “The only person you are destined to become is the person you decide to be”
