My name is Jeremiah V. Smith Sr and I am a father, a husband, a veteran and a member of the mighty Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. When I first decided to further my education, I wanted to become a Dentist. But after serving in the military, I wanted to give back to the community in a more effective way which was majoring in Social Work.
When I graduate from the Social Work program I intend to further my education and attain my Masters in Social Work as I continue to perfect my craft in the program. My goal to help those in need in the community, especially those in low-income areas because I believe there is more to life than to struggle and with the resources that are available to us success is possible.
I also want to help our veterans, not many people know, but they do not get the help they truly deserve and I would like to make that difference for them.
There are many people who contribute to who I am today, but the most influential persons in my life
Family, life, school and the hardships I’ve endured has taught me to become the change in the lives of others to promote positivity and growth.
So, the motto I live by is: In order for the world to change, we as the people must first change ourselves.
