Congratulations to senior biology education major, Rashid Troupe, today’s Hercules Scholarship recipient from Langston University. Rashid has accomplished much during his time at Langston, including being named a McCabe Scholar, a member of the Langston University Scholars Club, Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., a mentor of the B.R.O.S. (Building Relationship Overcoming Stigmas) Initiative, and NASA STEM Educator.

Rashid served on the Male Empowerment Network Program Committee and is a recognized leader at Langston.

After graduation, Rashid plans to become an educator and mentor in Oklahoma City and participate in outreach programs to inspire youth.

Influenced by his parents, his frat brothers and mentees for keeping him on his toes and giving him a reason to set an example every day.

The motto he lives by is: “In a world filled with mediocrity, choose to be great and wake up every morning on a mission.”
