He’s on His Way to Becoming a First-Generation College Grad. Meet Jose Hernandez, Today’s Hercules Scholar from Texas College

Major: Computer Science
Minor: General Studies
Career goal: to become a computer engineer

Congratulations to today’s Hercules Scholar, Jose Hernandez, a Houston native and computer science major. After graduation, Jose plans to land a position in the computer science field and become a contributing citizen to our country. Jose will also be a first-generation college graduate.

In addition to his academics, Jose is a member of the Texas College soccer team. He also works on campus and part-time in retail.

Jose says he is most influenced by his mother, whom he adds supports him the most. He lives by the motto:

“Work and be humble.”
