Grambling State University is the September 2013 School of the Month for the Tom Joyner Foundation. To help the university reach its $1 million annual campaign goal, alumni are requested to give $1000 (1K) to their alma mater. However, all donations will be cherished. Help spread the campaign theme: #1K4GSU.

The foundation, formed by the nationally syndicated radio personality, chose Grambling State as part of its on-going effort to assist these institutions in broadening and strengthening their efforts to raise money to help keep students attending HBCUs.

As one of the Tom Joyner Foundation ‘Schools of the Month’, each school will be promoted by the Tom Joyner Morning Show and receive those funds raised from listeners, alumni and other interested parties that month. The show, aired in 115 markets around the country, reaches nearly eight million listeners every week.

Grambling, located on 433 acres in Grambling, La., was founded in 1901. It has 4,434 undergraduate students and 843 graduate students. The University offers 50 degree programs.

The Foundation’s ‘Schools of the Month’ for the rest of the year are as follows: October – North Carolina A&T University, Greensboro, NC; November – Alcorn State University, Lorman, MS.
