Andreas ,a Junior at the University of the District of Columbia  was named the Tom Joyner Foundation “Hercules Scholar ” for this week.

Mr. Smith is originally from Washington, D.C. and currently has a 3.9 GPA. He is majoring in Business Management  at the University of the District of Columbia. After earning his degree at  UDC , he wants to join a 1 Year MBA Program and began to save to prepare to open his gourmet bakery. Andreas wants to open a bakery in D.C.  that specializes in French pastries and creating a dessert experiences.

On the campus of UDC, Andreas is very involved with the Student Government Association, and a member of Iota Phi Theta serving as the chapters Vice President. Recently he received a the School of Business Dean Award and was selected for a highly competitive internship with the District of Columbia Chief Financial Officer . He also mentions that the most influential person in his life is his mother. Andreas says his my mother inspired me to be an avid reader and lover of books. This enthusiasm drove me to eagerly dive into my studies, especially writing and English classes.
