Florida A&M University announces Department of Veteran Affairs

A Department of Veteran Affairs has been announced by Florida A&M University. The department will reside within its Division of Student Affairs.

Joseph D. Kelly, professor of military science at the university, said, “More than 158,000 [Army and Marine] soldiers will be leaving the Armed Forces in the next few years. These soldiers will be looking for education and certification opportunities.”

In the state of Florida, there are currently 1.6 million veterans.
