Congratulations to Robert Boone, today’s Hercules Scholarship winner from Elizabeth City State. After graduation, Robert plans to pursue his master’s degree in higher education then go on to work at a college or university to help educate, mentor and prepare students for their future.

Robert serves as SGA Vice President and was inducted into the Beta Gamma Sigma business honor society in the spring semester of 2017. He has been very active on campus, serving as a member of the Sophomore Class Council, the Student Senate, the Criminal Justice Club and the University Services Review committee. Outside of school, Robert is a keyboardist at Greater Village Gate Church and has volunteered with local businesses and organizations including the local food bank, J. C. Sawyer Elementary, Rise for Hunger and Bertie High School.

He is greatly influenced by his grandparents. Although they did not attend college, they succeeded in raising six children, purchasing two homes and both retiring from Perdue Farms. Robert says they instilled in him as a young child the important life essentials.
