Dillard University professor of Political Science Dr. Nchor Okorn was featured on the Nigerian television show, “Nigeria We Serve”, on Aug. 7, 2013 to discuss democracy and how it shapes good governance in Nigeria.

According to a blog posting by Biola-Giwa-Amu, Dr. Okorn acknowledged the efforts of Nigerian elites and Statesmen who have deemed it necessary to preserve the democracy of Nigeria, and urged them to keep it that way.

Dr. Okorn contends that the Nigerians have sustained democracy for 14 years uninterrupted, “because the democracy belongs to them.” Even though his remarks lauded the country’s democratization, he did not fail to highlight the nation’s challenges like hunger, poverty and illiteracy.
