Greetings, The DoD Office of Diversity Management and Equal Opportunity (ODMEO) sponsors “Taking the Pentagon to the People” annually for the purpose of sustaining our continuing goal of exposing minority institutions, their faculty, staff, administrators and students to business (research and development) and career and workforce development opportunities within DoD in order to seek the best and brightest talent our Nation has to offer. We focus our efforts on emerging talent to ensure that we successfully attract, recruit, develop and retain a highly-skilled Total Force capable of meeting current and future mission requirements that impacts vital Warfighter readiness. Participation includes DoD Leaders, Program Managers, Prime and Small Business Contractors, HBCU/MI Leadership, Faculty, Staff and Students, and their K-12, University and Business Partners.
“Taking the Pentagon to the People” is one of ODMEO’s initiatives that furthers the mission of our Nation’s Minority Institutions as a “Readiness Imperative.” One of the outcomes of this program has been to develop a comprehensive suite of recommendations to DoD and Minority Institutions in an effort to develop new relationships and enhance existing partnerships. The FY 18 training will take place as follows: Fayetteville State University, Fayetteville, NC: April 11-12, 2018 (HBCU) New Jersey City University, Jersey City, NJ: May 23-24, 2018 (MI) The Department of Defense is inviting you, your leadership, faculty, staff, students and your prime and small business associates to participate in one or both of these HBCU/MI Outreach Opportunities.
