DOVER, Del. – Delaware State University will hold its annual President’s Scholarship Ball and feature the music of renowned gospel and R&B singer BeBe Winans on the evening of Saturday, Dec. 10 at Dover Downs Hotel and Casino.
The Ball – which is annually held to raise funds for student scholarships – will begin with a cocktail reception from 5-6 p.m. followed by the dinner/music performance/dance portion from 6-11 p.m.

BeBe Winans, the highlight performer of the event, is a six-time Grammy Award-winning gospel and R&B singer, songwriter and producer, and is a part of the legendary Winans family, known as the First Family of Gospel Music. As part of a recording duo with his sister CeCe from 1987-1995, the pair’s R&B/inspirational music produce seven albums during that period, three of which when Gold and one that went Platinum.
After some year of separation to pursue solo projects, BeBe and CeCe reunited in 2009 to record the Grammy and Stellar award-winning album Still as part of their then-newly launched record label B&C Records. The duo’s accolades include three Grammy Awards, two NAACP Image Awards, two Soul Train Awards and numerous Stellar Awards.
As a solo artist between 1997 and 2012, BeBe has released seven albums. In April 2016, “Born For This: The BeBe Winans Story” premiered in Washington, D.C., as stage production about career of the singer.
DSU President Harry L Williams will present BeBe Winans with the 2016 President’s Legacy Award during the Scholarship Ball.
Later in the evening dance music will be provided by Show Tyme, a singer, songwriter and producer from Trenton, N.J. and based in Philadelphia.
