CSU professor is among Top 25 African American Professors in Ohio

WILBERFORCE, OH – Dr. Mervyn R. Joseph is among the Top 25 African American Professors in Ohio for 2013, according to StateStats.org. and OnlineSchoolsOhio.com.  The two sites set out to find post-secondary educators who had been recognized recently for excellence in the classroom, on campus and in the community. The six top professor lists include the following:

  • Top 25 STEM Professors in Ohio
  • Top 25 African American Professors in Ohio 
  • Top 20 Nursing Professors in Ohio
  • Top 22 Law Professors in Ohio
  • Top 22 Business Professors in Ohio
  • Top 22 Education Professors in Ohio

“Our goal with the top professors’ project is to recognize some of Ohio’s stand-out educators and mentors,” said Wes Ricketts, Vice President and General Manager of StateStats.org. “When our site visitors expressed deep interest in learning about the people who make the state’s colleges and universities truly tick, we were honored to oblige.” 

Joseph is an associate professor of music education who conducts research into the Black music aesthetic, urban teacher education and international music education.  He holds a Doctor of Philosophy in music education from Indiana University- Bloomington.
