Congratulations Justin Williams on becoming a Hercules Scholar!
Williams is involved in the Alpha Kappa Mu Honor Society, TRIO Leadership Council, and involved as a CIS (computer information systems) tutor. He is currently working on a building project with Habitat for Humanity and plans to serve as a mentor at the local charter school this semester.
Post graduation, Williams plans to attend graduate school at either UNC Greensboro in North Carolina to study computer science or Radford University in Radford, Virginia, to study data management. His mother, Cydcherrise Little, is a large part of the influence to keep striving for more education. Williams noted that his mother helped him to get into college and further his academic career.
“I’m a first-generation college student,” Williams said, “I was in community college, but my mom wanted more for me, so she started applying to different colleges and Livingstone was one of the first schools to call me.”
His uncle, Tim Little, serves as an inspiration to Williams as “basically my father figure.”
