North Carolina A&T University Marketing student Deneace Williams and mechanical engineering student Kris Wiedenheft were selected among 100 students in the nation to receive the 2014 Buick Achievers Scholarship.
Upon winning the renewable scholarships the Aggies were invited to meet N.C. Gov. Pat McCrory and General Motors representatives at the Governor’s Mansion on August 12.
“These students have made our state proud with their hard work, determination to succeed and thirst for knowledge,” Gov. McCrory said in a release published by the Governor’s office on August 12.
Supported by General Motors, the Buick Achievers Scholarship Program is designed to assist students studying science, technology, engineering and mathematics fields. This year the program awarded a total of $2.5 million in scholarships to its 100 recipients.
