Beto O’Rourke to give commencement speech at Paul Quinn College

May 3, 2019 by ahouston

Presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke will give the commencement speech for Paul Quinn College’s 2019 graduation.

The 2020 presidential hopeful will address Paul Quinn’s 130th graduating class on Saturday, May 4.

O’Rourke also made two trips to Paul Quinn College in 2018, when he spoke at the opening of Paul Quinn’s Summer Bridge Program in June, and held a town hall with students and the south Dallas community in October.

“We are thrilled to have Beto return to campus to address our graduating seniors and help us send them to the next chapter of their lives,” Dr. Michael J. Sorrell, president of Paul Quinn College, said in a release. “Beto has been a long-time friend to the Quinnite Nation and to HBCUs across the country, and we look forward to having him share this moment with our students and their families.”
