Aspiring Lawyer Russell Williams III Receives $1,500 Hercules Scholarship

GPA : 3.93

Major / Classification : Political Science/ Sophomore

Russell Williams III was named the Tom Joyner Foundation Hercules Scholar from Philander Smith College.

Russell is studying Political Science at Philander Smith College .  After earning his bachelors , he plans to enroll at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock’s Bowen School of Law and the Clinton School of Public Service, to earn a concurrent degree of Juris Doctorate and Masters of Public Service.

Russell is very involved on the campus of Philander Smith . He serves on the homecoming committee,  he is the secretary for the  Political Science Academy and he is also the SGA Vice President for 2016-2017.

The most influential people in Russell’s life are his mother, his high school principal , Dr. Rodney Johnson, his highschool track coach Kenneth J. Winfrey and President  Dr. Roderick L.. Smothers.

He lives by the motto  “Realize that each moment of the day, some part of you is growing. With growth, comes change. It’s up to you to turn that change into excellence.”
