FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

President Brown is known for actively engaging in civic and community affairs throughout the region, state and nation, while promoting transparency and collaboration across disciplines and amongst constituents. The success of his 2012 alumni tour — when Brown visited Greenville, Atlanta, Detroit and Washington, D.C. — proved the importance of meeting members of the Alcorn community face-to-face and giving the alumni an opportunity to express what’s important to them.
“Our alumni are the greatest stewards and the best advocates for the university,” President Brown said. “They play vital role in recruiting students, attending campus events, volunteering on campus, serving as mentors, employing our students and offering them valuable intern opportunities. They also make gifts to Alcorn to continue its legacy of excellence.”
President Brown will update alumni, stakeholders and community leaders on all the great happenings at Alcorn and encourage increased involvement. He will address concerns about decreasing state funds, tuition increases and various other topics.
Director of Alumni Affairs Janice Gibson proudly says, “We look forward to seeing our graduates and reminding them that by investing in their alma mater they are helping Alcorn students reach their highest potential and assisting the University in making a difference in communities — in the state, across the nation and the world.”
The tour is open to alumni and friends of Alcorn who live in general proximity to the various locations as well.
