89th Annual State Fair Classic

[[Dallas, TX – September 24th 2014]]

We are only 2 days away from the 89th State Fair Classic featuring Prairie View A&M University and Grambling State University. This rilvarly has been going on for 89 years  and Since the 1980s, Grambling Tigers  and Prairie View Panthers  have traveled to Dallas during the State Fair to go head-to-head on the grass of Cotton Bowl Stadium.  This is not just a football game of any two teams but it is a battle of bragging rights among fans, team mates, alumni , and the band. The State Fair Classic is a great game that routinely brings thousands of fans to the stands for an amazing match-up that has everyone talking around town.

Grambling Tigers are currently (0-2) this season and the PV Panthers ( 0-3), so one of these teams will be looking to get their first win this season in the SWAC Conference.

But you can not mention a football classic without mentioning the  Battle of the Bands during the half. The Marching Storm and The World Famed Tiger Marching Band are ready to show off to the Big D , Alumni, and State Fair Classic attendees who has the best band in the land.

FUN FACT : Prairie View A&M is the second oldest public institution in Texas and offers 50 baccalaureate degrees, 37 master’s degree and 4 doctoral degrees. Grambling State University founded in 1901 is coeducational university with 4,754 undergraduate and 407 graduate students. It provides almost 70 degree programs and is known particularly for its nursing, computer science, and teacher education programs.
