Harold ,a Graduate student at the University of the District of Columbia  was named the Tom Joyner Foundation “Hercules Scholar ” for this week.

Mr. Yapuwa is originally from Malawi a country in southeast Africa .He currently holds a 3.9 GPA and is majoring in Water Resource Management  at the University of the District of Columbia. After earning his degree at  UDC , he wants to pursue his Doctoral studies in Water Resource Management.  Harold wants to educate the community in all ways possible because he believes saving the environment is key to our health and longevity .

On the campus of UDC, Harold serves as the  President of the Environmental Sustainability Leadership Club. He is also a student research assistant in the Environmental Quality Testing Lab.

The most influential person in Harold’s life is his mother. He mentions that she has  taught him to always work towards your dreams no matter the hand life as dealt you at the time.
