Filmmakers Scholarship Program 2019

The Tom Joyner Foundation and Denny’s has announced the TJF Filmmakers Scholarship Program. Six (6) deserving students from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) will receive a $2,500 scholarship from the Tom Joyner Foundation. Only one (1) student will be awarded a scholarship per entry. The winners and their submitted films will be recognized and displayed online (TomJoynerFoundation.org), via social media, and at Tom Joyner Foundation events and fundraisers. Funds will be awarded for the Spring and Fall 2020 semesters. The application period begins on August 2, 2019 and ends on December 13, 2019.
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE AND HOW DOES IT WORK?
The Filmmakers Scholarship is open to all freshmen, sophomore and junior HBCU students. Students must be enrolled full time and be in good academic standing with a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 to 4.0. Previous winners are not eligible to be considered a repeat Denny’s/TJF HFE Scholar.
Students must submit a PDF of a detailed storyboard about their short film.
