Working Diligently to Achieve His Best: Coleton Dudley of Langston University is Today’s Hercules Scholar

Congratulations to today’s Hercules Scholarship winner, Coleton Dudley of Langston University. The senior English major plans to receive a master’s degree in English while teaching and pursue his doctorate in English education.

Coleton’s impressive academic career includes his designation as valedictorian of his senior class in 2014, which earned him the McCabe Scholarship from Langston. As an honor student at Langston, Coleton participates in many activities on campus. He is a reading coordinator for the summer literacy retention and improvement camp, gives school tours for prospective students, is a tutor in the Langston Writing Center and Programming Coordinator for the Wesley Foundation.

Coleton has been crowned Mr. Orange and Blue, been a member of the Royal Court for three years, and is a member of the Alpha Pi chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.

Coleton is the captain of  the Langston Soccer Club and in his spare time, enjoys playing soccer, video games, fishing, swimming and cooking.

Raised by a single mother, Coleton lives by his fraternity’s motto: “Achievement in Every Field of Human Endeavor”, and tries to exemplify that in his life.  “I try to work diligently to achieve and become successful in whatever I involve myself with.”
