UAPB to hold Men’s Celebration April 8,9

PINE BLUFF, Ark. – The Office of Student Involvement and Leadership at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB) will celebrate the men that are making a positive impact on the campus. The celebration will begin with a forum on April 8 about, “The First Step to Financial Freedom” at 6:30 p.m. in the L.A. Davis, Sr. Student Union Lounge.

The celebration will end with a Men’s Day Assembly on April 9 at 11:00 a.m. with the theme: “Empowering Men to take the first step today for a better life tomorrow.” The free, public event will be held in Cross-Phipps auditorium of Caldwell Hall where Attorney Efrem B. Neely, Sr. will give the keynote address.

Attorney Efrem Baines Neely, Sr. is a native Arkansan who was born in Pine Bluff but raised in the sates’ capitol, Little Rock.  He is a proud graduate of the historic Little Rock Central High School. Licensed to practice before the Arkansas State Courts and the United States District Court for the Eastern and Western District, Neely also followed in both of his parent’s footsteps by attending UAPB where he received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. He then attended the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville School of Law to obtain his Juris Doctorate.

After law school, Attorney Neely briefly clerked for the Arkansas Attorney General and was a staff attorney for a small law firm in Little Rock.  In 2009, he started the Efrem B. Neely Law Firm merged with Attorney Alex Guynn in 2011 and started The Neely and Guynn Law Firm which has offices in Little Rock and Pine Bluff and is a general practice entity but specializes in criminal defense, personal injury and domestic relations law.

Attorney Neely is a proud member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Incorporated and is even prouder to have been initiated through the Tau Sigma Chapter of the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff.   Additionally, Attorney Neely and/or the Neely and Guynn Law Firm is a member of the Arkansas Bar Association, Pulaski County Bar Association, Arkansas Trial Lawyers Association , Arkansas Democratic Black Caucus, Pine Bluff Regional Chamber of Commerce and the W. Harold Flowers Law Society.
