You’re invited! 4th Annual Detroit HBCU Weekend

The Detroit HBCU Network will be celebrating its 4th Annual HBCU Weekend June 20st -23rd. This  time will be to collectively honor the spirit of the Historical Black College experience within the Metro Detroit area. The Network consists of alumni, various HBCUs, and with the purpose of increasing alumni membership, student recruitment and create networking opportunities for Detroit area alumni, students and supporters.

HBCU Weekend will go as followed:
Thursday, June 20th 6:00-9:00pm Entrepreneur Networking Event We want our local Businesses owners to get to know each other and become part of the DHBCUN. The MARS Bar (www.marsbardetroit.com) 10001 Joseph Campau St (Between Caniff and Holbrook, on the corner of Yemans Ave.) Hamtramck, MI 48212 (This is a free event, however donations are greatly appreciated)

Friday, June 21st 9:00 p.m. – 2:00 a.m. HBCU T-shirt Party (21 and up) Rounds On The Square 1431 Times Square Detroit, MI 48226 Come in your best HBCU Paraphernalia $10 admission

Saturday, June 22nd 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. HBCU Care Package Drive UAW Region A1 Vote Center 15140 Livernois, Detroit MI 48238(between Fenkell and Chalfonte) We are asking all our Alumni and supporters to create and drop off care packages for our deserving students. Sunday, June 23rd 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. HBCU Cookout Shepherd Park, Oak Park MI Shelter 1(Northfield & Church) $5 contribution for all Alumni/Adult guest. Student and children eat for free. In lieu of the $5 contribution to the cookout, all Alumni/Guest are encouraged to make a food item donation for the cookout. . If you would like to volunteer to help with the cookout or provide food contributions please contact April Seworth at msadseworth@aol.com or 313-598-5463.
Part of the proceeds collected from HBCU Weekend will go to the HBCU Alumni chapter’s local scholarship fund that show the most participation and school spirit for the entire weekend. This means all alumni MUST wear school paraphernalia or colors to all the events in order to be in the running for money
