Fisk’s Dr. Jessie Carney Smith has done it again!

The staff at Fisk University are working hard to make a difference at their University. For the third time Dr. Smith has received a grant for her 28 month initiative to preserve rare materials in Fisk’s Franklin Library. The $50,000 Lyrasis Grant will aid in the preservation of photos and and magnetic media collections that document the African American experience  from reconstruction through the Civil Rights era.  Dr.S. Ray Bullock & Dr. Issac Thompson are Co-Project Directors for a summer computer instruction project for K-12 students that just received the Google RISE award for $20,000 from the Tidings Foundation. Dr. Edwina Harris Hamby and Dr. Princilla Evans Morris are spearheading a project to establish the center for Teaching and Learning and have received a $500,000 grant from The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation to help facilitate the project.  Dr. Edwina Harris Hamby will serve as the Project Director and Dr. Princilla Evans Morris will be the Executive Director of the Center.
